This character idea has been running around my spacestation, fighting off a sentient infection that's taken it over. The collar around his neck creates a temporary field with beathable air in case of a sudden loss of pressure. The suit is not as clunky as a normal spacesuit, so it allows for normal movement, it just doesn't last that long in a vacuum.
